Washington – President Joe Biden’s top economic adviser expressed confidence on Friday that the United States is not heavily exposed to the economic slowdown in China and the shipping disruptions in the Red Sea. In a statement, the adviser stated that the US economy remains upbeat and diversified, minimizing any potential impact. While China experienced a less robust recovery, the US economy’s resilience is expected to shield it from significant fallout. The advisor highlighted the importance of diversification and connectivity to other economies in the region. Despite concerns about the accuracy of China’s economic statistics, last year, China’s gross domestic product (GDP) grew by 5.2%, meeting the government target of around 5%.
