NodeKit Raises $1.2M to Build SEQ Network for Interoperable Rollup Chains

A Revolutionary Solution for Rollup Chains

With SEQ, NodeKit aims to facilitate the launch and decentralization of rollup chains by offering a comprehensive transactional sequencing solution. Most existing rollup chains within the Ethereum ecosystem, including smart contract rollups like ZK and optimistic rollups, as well as frameworks like OP Stack, will be compatible with SEQ’s software. By integrating with SEQ, rollups will also gain cross-chain interoperability capabilities with one another, creating new possibilities for on-chain applications.

Noah Pravecek, the CEO of NodeKit, emphasized that the seamless interoperability enabled by NodeKit unlocks innovative rollup designs, empowering on-chain applications to directly compete with centralized off-chain applications.

Supporting Data Availability with Celestia

In addition to its core features, SEQ is designed to support various data availability layers, including Celestia. This versatile design ensures that developers and users will have flexible options for data availability, further enhancing the functionality and usability of the SEQ network.

NodeKit plans to launch the SEQ network’s testnet in 2024, allowing developers and users to experiment and provide valuable feedback for further improvement. Following the testnet phase, a mainnet release will follow, providing a robust and production-ready environment for rollup chains and decentralized applications to thrive.

Building on Avalanche, SEQ leverages the HyperSDK to create a Layer 2 sequencing infrastructure that collects fees from user transactions. Prominent Layer 2 solutions like Optimism and Arbitrum have already demonstrated significant potential by generating millions of dollars in total fees in recent months. With the integration of SEQ, rollup chains have the opportunity to capture a share of this growing market and contribute to the overall ecosystem’s development.
