Developer of Cardano (ADA) Submits Protocol Upgrade Proposal

On Saturday, February 11 at 0:00 UTC, Cardano, a proof-of-stake blockchain platform, will upgrade its pre-production environment to protocol version 8.

New cryptographic primitives will be added to the platform as a result of this update, promoting improved cross-chain interoperability and safe DApp development with Plutus.

The Cardano community will be able to continue testing and final-stage integration with this update before the forthcoming SECP mainnet upgrade slated for February 14.

By introducing additional built-in features to Plutus, the mainnet upgrade will improve Cardano’s interoperability and secure cross-chain DApp development, making it simpler for developers to collaborate with other blockchains.

The new built-in functions will handle signatures like ECDSA and Schnorr to give cross-chain applications the maximum level of security possible.

With more than 80% of block-producing nodes currently running the necessary new node, the technology is almost ready to be implemented on the mainnet.

To guarantee compatibility, decentralized application (DApp) developers and cryptocurrency exchanges have both been notified of the modification.

The community will be kept up to speed on developments by Input Output Global (IOG) and the Cardano Stiftung, and is urged to follow IOG and Cardano Stiftung channels for the most recent information. This improvement will make it simpler for programmers to create cross-chain apps while ensuring the greatest degree of security.
