Uniswap V3 Deployment to BNB Chain Approved Despite a16z Opposition

Deployment of Uniswap V3 by Majority Vote Adopted

The Motion Is Adopted

The deployment of Uniswap V3 (UNI) to BNB Chain (BNB) was opposed by Andreessen Horowitz (a16z), which used its 15 million votes on February 6; however, the proposal was accepted on February 10 with 65.89% of the vote in favor. According to the findings, 33.57% of voters opposed the idea, while 0.53% remained undecided.

Important Backers

ConsenSys, Robert Leshner of Compound Finance, and GFX Labs, who held 7.03 million, 5.76 million, and 4.92 million UNI tokens, respectively, were among the most significant backers. According to Illia, the introduction of Uniswap V3 to BNB Chain may result in the inclusion of one to two million users and about $1 billion in Total Value Locked (TVL).

Initial Acceptance

Over 80% of participants approved the plan, which was put up by 0xPlasma Labs on December 12, 2022, and it was given first governance approval on January 23.

Disagreement of a16z

A16z cast a no vote on the motion on February 6 despite having a considerable amount of power, holding 41.5 million UNI tokens over 11 separate wallets, or more than 4% of the total supply. The business cited previous breaches and security lapses in claiming that it didn’t think wormhole technology would provide the most secure bridging option.
